LFB Color launches an art, color and language program on Instagram live!

Friends and color aficionados worldwide:

Greetings and thank you for your patience as I decided how to move forward here with my blog.

Guess what? I am a professional artist. Yes, this is a new development. It feels so liberating to write and publish that fact right here on my website and blog!

I hadn’t summoned the confidence until last November 2020 to call myself an artist, though I’ve been sketching and creating pieces since 2014 while in fashion design school.

I’m weaving art into this color focused blog, sharing my latest project each week, the materials and techniques I incorporate, and the story or inspiration behind the piece itself.

Let’s jump right in. I’m working on a nine-piece series entitled, “Solitary Moments,” based on my solo trip to Greece two times in the last two years. All of my artwork now is modeled off of my original photography.

The materials I used to create this week’s piece are as follows:

  1. Brown paint contractor’s paper (It has a porous, rough, uneven texture that I like for these landscape and architecturally based drawings.)

  2. Permanent ink (That is right. I drew the piece you will see below only in ink pen. There were no pencils used, so I just made the best of whatever lines I created.)

  3. Sennelier brand ultra soft dry pastels (In business since 1887, Sennelier is a luxury French art brand that offers the most highly pigmented pastels and other art products.)

  4. Fixative to seal in the color and keep it from smudging

My goal with this series is to introduce the world to the theme and purpose of my art. I capture color, culture, landscape and colloquialism in my work, which is wholly inspired by my love of people, global travel and languages.

I also aim to work with people and brands whom/that I support worldwide. That’s why I created the hashtag #ColoringMyWayAcrossTheGlobe last year!

Alongside the blog, I decided about 14 weeks ago to launch a weekly Instagram live program called THE English, Español και Ελληνικά SHOW.

Every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time I spend between ten and fifteen minutes doing a little art “show and tell.”

The twist is that I conduct the program in three languages: my native English, semi-fluent Spanish and very beginner Greek. To see last week’s episode, please click here: http://www.instagram.com/laurenbattistini

As for my architectural color consulting business, I’m grateful to inform everyone that it has been quite busy over here. I will be sure to begin blogging about some of my residential and commercial projects soon enough.

In the meantime, I hope that you enjoy my latest art piece, the third in a nine-piece series entitled, “Solitary Moments, Momentos Solitarios και Μοναχικές Στιγμές.”

Goodbye for now, friends and color enthusiasts!
