Who hires a color consultant?

Greetings, color and design aficionados worldwide!

Do you know what a color consultant does and who hires us? Who hires us and why? If you are in any way, shape or form involved in residential or commercial real estate and construction, then this post is especially for you.

What is an architectural color consultant?

An architectural color consultant is a color, materials and finishes specialist. We are not interior designers. Our expertise is narrow in scope yet powerful and vital to your project. We are essentially PROPERTY MARKETERS and BUSINESS PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND HOW TO USE COLOR TO APPRECIATE PROPERTY VALUE AND ATTRACT THE IDEAL TENANTS | OCCUPANTS TO YOUR SPACE.

Our specification includes interiors and exteriors, residential and commercial spaces, and a variety of building types. Additionally, architectural color consultants create the ideal, most aesthetically appropriate mix of colors and materials. We are well versed in and stay abreast of residential and commercial color and design trends.

Without color, you have no presence, no project and no profit!

We make all of these CMF (color, materials, finishes) decisions to appreciate property value, market it better than your competitors, and finally increase profits! There is undoubtedly a profit and marketing aspect to color consulting.

Architects and interior designers hire me for custom residential and commercial projects.

I am neither an architect nor a designer, and I DO NOT COMPETE WITH THEM. I complement their service offerings and reinforce the work they do. Though architects and designers make color and materials decisions all day long, there are occasions in which they need a specialist, so they reach out to me.

Particularly on large commercial projects and those where color is exceedingly important to the client, architectural color consultants are brought in to bear the liability and responsibility of making these costly decisions. A wrong color can depreciate a property and cost sometimes millions to remedy!

Custom home builders reach out to LFB COLOR CONSULTING on behalf of their clients (future homeowners)! They know when to bring in “the big guns,” AKA…..an architectural color consultant.

For custom builders with clients who feel overwhelmed by the design and materials selection process, LFB COLOR is brought in to facilitate and assist the client (homeowner) with all design meetings and the selection of paint, hard finishes and surfaces, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and—at times—fabrics and wall coverings.

Commercial real estate investors, developers and agents contact me on large scale projects!

Because these projects require much analysis and research—and without color you HAVE NO PROJECT AT ALL—LFB Color serves as architectural color consultant. This involves much competitive and trend research on color and all materials, along with a careful selection of color and product allocation or mix. As we create color and material palettes, we must then determine placement for optimal usage of materials and aesthetic appeal.

It’s so much more involved than selecting a few coordinating colors from a paint fan deck!

Let’s not forget that there are usually multiple decision makers on large commercial projects.

My job as architectural color consultant is to liaise and draw consensus among many decision makers to finalize color, materials and finishes for entire projects. Color is objective and difficult to decide, so LFB Color makes it “make sense” for all parties involved!

Are you a real estate or construction professional in need of architectural color services?

Are you unsure and just need some more information? If so, then please reach out to me for a complimentary discovery call. I will gather basic information to understand the nature and scope of your project, and then we determine together if, how and when to proceed.

As always, thank you for your readership. Please share this blog with any of your color, design, real estate or construction colleagues!

LFB Color Consulting is here to serve you all.

Colorfully,

Lauren
