‘Tis the season for colorful Christmas trees & childhood reminiscence

Color divas and divos,

Season’s greetings and I hope that this finds you well. Today I’m feeling completely inspired by colorful Christmas trees after reading an article about 7 Christmas decor trends by worldwide home trend writer Sophie Flaxman for Better Homes & Gardens magazine.

Being the color professional that I am, I then set out to find the most colorful Christmas trees I could find online. Today I want to take you on a whimsical journey with this festively curated selection of photos. Enjoy!

In our first Christmas tree below, I see magenta, purple, teal, indigo, red, and maroon, along with silver. That’s a lot of color anchored by depth and richness.

Hot pink, orange, fuchsia, magenta, red-purple and hints of periwinkle thrown in make for a creative and energizing Christmas tree. This may be my favorite of the bunch.

Blush, mauve, gold, silver and hints of what I see as mint green give this a soft and elegant feel.

This vibrant combo is an artist’s playground with saturated yellow, purple and fuchsia. How wild!

Orange, turquoise, white, hot pink, coral, purple, cobalt blue make for an eclectic and summery Christmas tree. What do you all think?

Reds and purples work so well together and I’ve always been a fan of shiny glass ornaments.

This reminds me of something that a group of children would come together to plan and decorate. It has this playful vibe that reminds me of my very first Christmas ornaments that my mom hand painted for me as a child.

It’s definitely a bohemian artisan’s Christmas with this delightful tree below. This is another motif reminiscent of childhood and hand crafting my own ornaments.

Though this isn’t a bold color statement, the traditional Tartan plaid, red, gold, blue and twinkling lights look lovely with the black backdrop. This is simply beautiful and quintessentially Christmas in my eyes.

Blush, gold and blue with some iridescent ornaments have me dreaming of walking in my own winter wonderland! P.S. Blush is a leading decor and design color for 2022-2023.

Festive with holly, Santa, bows, plaid, touches of gold, red and traditional ornaments, this tree reminds me of Christmases at my maternal grandmother Mi-Mi’s house decades ago. Heartwarming!

More pink and gold just because!

We come to an end today, and I hope you’ll forgive me for being a bit sentimental. You see, this tree, a flocked tree, reminds me ESPECIALLY of my own mother, who sadly passed away just four short months ago. I miss her terribly!

My mother was a master at Christmas tree decor, and there were many years when she herself would flock the family tree. It always turned out beautifully. Fun times! She was a true creative and DIY innovator.

Though I love ultra colorful Christmas trees, this flocked tree draws my attention most as I reminisce especially on my mom and many childhood Christmas memories with her.

Colorful friends, I hope that you are enjoying this Christmas and holiday season wherever you find yourselves, and that you are also taking the time to rest when needed, reminisce and let yourself feel loss also as needed.

I leave you for now and look forward to our colorful blog post next week.

Let me know in the comments please which of these Christmas trees or color schemes is your favorite!

Colorfully yours,

Lauren
